1/23/2024 0 Comments Marriott winston salem![]() ![]() The suite was clean, but once again, I had a chair with 4 wheels and no way to lock the wheels it's not good in a handicapped room. I would not have given this place 4 stars had it not been for the 2 outstanding employees who were so fantastic. Upon checking out, I had the same young woman who had checked me in, and she was very helpful and apologized for my issues. She returned my keys and even brought me ice and offered additional assistance should I need it as she was there until 3 a.m. She then took my keys and moved my car to a parking space in their driveway as I was there for only 1 night. She actually led me back to my room, and I never would have found my way. The nicest young woman from the front desk came to my assistance. There was a total lack of signage inside the garage to give you any idea where to go. There was no way I could use it to exit the garage as a bar prevented me from using the driveway without doing the limbo, and the curbs were too high to try to get up on the sidewalk. I exited the elevator only to find myself at a garage entrance. I got on the elevator, and it directed me to punch A for my hotel. I made my own van accessible space by placing my blue highway cones in the adjacent space to allow my ramp to extend and ne to exit the van. I eventually stopped at Level J, nit because I found handicapped parking, but because I found 2 empty adjacent parking spaces fairly close to an elevator. There were none to be found, and in fact, I never saw a single handicapped space. Upon my return, I entered the garage from the hotel driveway and proceeded up and up and up in pursuit of a van accessible handicapped parking space. The only parking at this location is in an adjacent municipally owned garage. ![]() My accessible room could not have been any further from the elevator without going outside (stairwell was the next door). The young woman checking me in was fantastic and accompanied me to my room. The driveway to get to the lobby had only one curb cut, and it took ne multiple tries to align my ramp with that cut. I drive a handicapped van with a ramp that extends on the passenger side. ![]() Wyndham Grand Cancun All Inclusive Resort & VillasĪs a handicapped traveler, I am always cognizant of accommodations for travelers like me.Hotels near ITT Technical Institute - High Point Campus.Hotels near Winston-Salem State University.Hotels near The Little Theatre of Winston-Salem.Winston Salem Hotels with Tennis Courts.Winston Salem Hotels with Laundry Facilities.InterContinental (IHG) Hotels in Winston Salem.Best Western Plus Hotels in Winston Salem.Hampton by Hilton Hotels in Winston Salem.Embassy Suites by Hilton Winston Salem Pool.Embassy Suites by Hilton Winston Salem Rooms.Embassy Suites by Hilton Winston Salem Features.Hotels near Embassy Suites by Hilton Winston Salem.Information based off a news release from Winston-Salem Marriott.
