1/22/2024 0 Comments Roger mcguinn 12 string martin![]() ![]() ![]() It produces a unique and extraordinary tone. Martin truly delivers serious tone with special edition and limited run guitars because they save the best woods for them and charge the most money for them. This is an extremely well crafted instrument. The warm tone is well balanced and suited for strumming with the 12 string effect, while still allowing for fingerpicking and flatpicking like on a six string, and being able to solo and bend on the upper two strings. The addition of the seventh string gives the guitar a 12-string-like quality. The guitar is set up with a real nice action and the modified "V" neck profile has a great feel. Roger's signature is inlayed on the bottom of the fretboard. ![]() The fretboard has wood inlay diamond/snowflake position markers for frets 1-12. It is a FULL GLOSS BODY (very important for long life and wood preservation over the years, as well as protections from body oils, dings, scratches, etc.). It has a nice deep amber gloss finish on a nicely grained solid Sitka spruce top, East Indian rosewood back and sides, and ebony fingerboard and bridge. This is a chance to own an incredibly unique guitar with pure top-of-the-line wood selection from the king of American acoustic guitars - Martin USA. These simply do not sell for less than what I am asking in this condition, and rarely sell for anywhere near what I am asking in any condition. If you don't want it anymore in five years, just sell it for hundreds more than you paid. This guitar, being almost ten years old, is about to begin its climb upward in value and never stop. Here is why: Guitars, especially big names like Martin, tend to lose value for the first ten years, and then increase indefinitely in value after the ten year mark. It will not be easy to find one at this price EVER again. They were discontinued quite some time ago after a very small production run. This model will continue to increase in value indefinitely, as rare and unusual models always do with Martin. This guitar was ordered on the last day orders were being taken, so it may be the last one ever made, with #250 written on the inside. Playability and new musical possibilities don’t get much better than this. Notes and chords seem to explode from this guitar with a massive bass and midrange enveloping the player. More versatile, easier to play, and more wow factor. It blows the both the McGuinn Signature D12-41 and the McGuinn Signature D-7 I used to have out of the water. This is one of the most remarkable instruments I have ever laid my eyes on. It comes with the original deluxe arch top hard shell case with lock and key, and Roger McGuinn’s signature on the interior numbered label. The Martin custom shop used the finest woods possible for this model, which had an MSRP of $5,999 back in 2007. I recently sold my Martin D-7, not to be confused with this HD-7 and I always HIGHLY preferred the HD-7 because of its superior woods, which resulted in a deeper tone. It has many D-41, D-42, and D-45 appointments, and shares the same bracing (very important) as them as well. This is the best combination of the best of everything one could want in a Drednought. You can achieve a 12 string sound or a 6 string sound and a beautiful sound in between. ![]() This is known as the "swiss army knife of guitars" by Roger McGuinn, for its versatility as a tool of sonic bliss. These can be blended together to taste for a perfect acoustic tone. It is highly regarded as the best pickup system available and combines a blend of the unbelievable Fishman Matrix under-saddle pickup, and the incredible Fishman soundhole gooseneck microphone. This pickup system costs $250 for the pickup alone, not including the professional installation. Included is a Fishman Ellipse Blend Pickup system that was professionally installed by a certified guitar tech. It has only been played a handful of times since being purchased new. Some call this "mint." It has been kept in its case when not being played, and properly humidified. It is absolutely immaculate besides the light swirl marks/scratches that are found in even the most meticulously cared for instruments. Welcome to the Guitar Guru's Studio Liquidation Saleįor sale is a wonderful 2007 Martin HD-7 Roger McGuinn Special Edition Acoustic Guitar in excellent++ (near mint) condition. ![]()
